SeniorAdvantage Food Pantry a Success

Shown in the photo is Wayne Eason volunteering at our first SeniorAdvantage Free food pantry for seniors (65+) on Friday, February 29, 2008. The free food pantry will be open from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on the last Friday of each month. The location is The Northside Salvation Army, 31 Saraland Blvd. S., Saraland. The north side of the Salvation Army building is the entrance to the SeniorAdvantage food pantry.

Proof of age and income is required. Income requirements are for a household of one is $1,107 or less per month. Income requirement for a household of two is $1484 or less per month. You must sign a State of Alabama USDA Self-Declaration form, which we will keep on file. We were able to serve all senior’s that qualified in February, however, our resources are limited, therefore, we will give out 25 pounds of groceries to qualifying senior’s until the food pantry is empty.

SeniorAdvantage Food Pantry Team Attends Conference

SeniorAdvantage Food Pantry committee attended the Bay Area Food Bank Annual meeting at Central Presbyterian Church on January 4, 2008. Topics covered: Warehouse Operation, Nutrition Facts, Agency Procedures & Policies, and Grant Writing.
