What would you do if you ran out of money before you ran out of month? Many Seniors (65+) in North Mobile face that very situation from time to time when unexpected expenses arise. SeniorAdvantage of North Mobile, Inc. is designed to help with this problem and others very important to seniors. Poor eyesight and loss of hearing often isolate seniors from their family and friends. To function in today’s fast paced society one needs all five senses working. But where does a Senior go to find help with these problems if they are low on money and often thinking no one really cares?

SeniorAdvantage has brought several agencies together to help solve these problems.
New ways to help those that need help the most.

Food…
SeniorAdvantage is a member of the Bay Area Food Bank. We provide a box of food to all low income Seniors (65+) that meets the qualifications of Bay Area Food Bank. This will help Seniors with food at the end of each month. Northside Salvation Army has offered SeniorAdvantage a very large room to set up our food pantry. Food will be available starting Friday, January 25, 2008 and will be the last Friday of each month.

Eye glasses…
When I think of eye glasses for low income one organization comes to mind. The Lions Clubs have been serving the needs of the blind and people with sight problems since 1917.

SeniorAdvantage is using the resources of the Saraland Lions Club to help all Seniors, that qualify, with an eye exam and glasses at no charge. Also, please give your used eye glasses to the Saraland Lions Club for reuse in foreign countries. There is a collection box in front of Whitney Bank on Highway 43. Look for the gold and purple box with the Lions Club logos.

Hearing Aids…
Hearing aids are also a Lions Clubs International project. A Lions Club representative will help seniors qualify for this free service for low income.
